Opportunities
To Serve
A great way to
plug in!
At CCOV we value and put a high emphasis on serving. Serving the Lord
is an honor and a privilege. One mark of being a true disciple of our
Lord Jesus Christ is servant hood. He demonstrated the greatest level
of
service by humbling himself to die on the Cross of Calvary. Love for
Jesus should be our motivation to serve.
Ministry is Service. Our
leaders are called
"Servant Leaders" and "Servant Elders". We believe what the Bible says
about serving and
leadership. "If anyone
wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all." (Mark 9:35) The
way up in the Kingdom is down. "Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord,
and He will exalt you." (James 4:10)
"He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is
unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much."
(Luke 16:10) and finally "from whom the whole body, being fitted
and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each
individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of
itself in love."(Eph. 4:16) Serving in our
fellowship is a great way to plug in and
become a part. If you feel estranged or on the outskirts, serving can
help you feel like you belong...that you are a part of the ministry.
Faithful serving is also the quality that we look for in
leaders, teachers, and our staff. You
can start with helping us set up and break down our church equipment,
being an Usher, helping in the children's ministry, or a range of other
ministries. Feel free to join us in doing the work of the ministry and
advancing the Kingdom of God with us at CCOV!
